Canals & Munne is one of the oldest and well known Cava makers in Spain; it was established in 1915 by the great-grandfather of the present general manager.
Our winery is located 35 kms. away from Barcelona, in the Alt Penedes area, right in the heart of Sant Sadurni D’Anoia where 90% of the Spanish Cava is produced.
Our Cava is made following strict guidelines set by the Champagnoise method. We pride ourselves in having one of the best cava of the country, and we have been awarded gold and silver medals for quality in different countries among other distinctions (Zarcillo de Oro 2009, Silva medal Russia 2009, excellent punctuation in the Peñin Guide, etc).
All our cavas are elaborated with the traditional grapes of Penedes which are Macabeo, Perellada y Xarelo. During the past years we have also incorporated Chardonnay, which is used on our top quality cava as well as Pinot noir, although Pinot Noir is used only in one product, Serralet del Guineu.
Our elaborate system produces excellent Cava of very fine bubbles which is a pleasure to drink and toast in all happy events.
The size of Canals & Munne is medium and we have limited production this ensures the quality and exclusivity of Canals & Munne.
90% of our Cavas are classified as GRAN RESERVA by the Consejo Regulador del Cava, official Body.
