EL XAMFRÀ cellar was founded in 1987 by Francisco Domínguez and his wife Antonia Ruiz in the center of the town Sant Sadurní d’Anoia called “the heart of the Cava”.
Francisco Domínguez had to migrate in the 60s to the prosperous city of Barcelona to search for a job. It was there where he obtained great experience in the world of wines and Cavas.
In the 70s he met Antonia Ruiz, his future wife. She was a press saleswoman in the town; he fell in love with her and in 1976 they got married. One year later, in 1977 Francisco Domínguez Jr was born.
Nowadays Francisco Domínguez Ruiz is the president of the cellar and together with his partner Cristina Fernández works on a new project: The construction of the new cellar equipped with all the latest technological advances and with the aim of working with the most demanding quality criteria forever but without forgetting the traditional values of the Cava.
