Vins Padró is a winery with over five generations of history, where we can see the dedication that their ancestors endured until today. The new generation adds new knowledge and applies them in winemaking and vine care.
Our wines are the result of meticulous labor in the winery and in the vineyards. They link tradition, experience and enthusiasm of the entire team. Always with caution and supervision by Mario Garcia Castellano, the winemaker at the winery since 1996. He has a degree in Chemistry at the University of Tarragona and Enology at Sant Sadurni d’Anoia.
From the vine to the glass, we incorporate the resources to carry out step by step all processes to elaborate a wide range of wines.
Vins Padró is a winery with a capacity of 4,000,000 liters, with 120 hectares. Vineyards are located in the area of the Alt Camp.
The geographic area of the vineyards and winery, are under the DO Tarragona. Among the white grape varieties we find Macabeo, Muscat, Parellada and Xarel.lo. From these grapes they elaborate white wines; these varieties provide freshness, acidity, balance and fruit flavors.
New varieties have been incorporated like chardonnay to bring a new range and style of the wines according to the demand from new markets. Just like the sauvignon blanc, it brings elegance to the wine. In the variety of red grape ull de llebre or tempranillo is the predominant variety. You get light-bodied wines both red and fruity rosé.
The merlot has been incorporated to enrich the new wines in fine and aromatic tones. The result of this wine is a wine with plenty of structure and color, suitable for aging in oak barrels. The aged wines are made from grapes obtained from the oldest vines. The park is home in the 650 barrels of those between American and French oak.
